We need to talk. A phrase that strikes dread into the hearts of men everywhere. Shut all doors and hide the keys first so there’s no escape.
Are you listening to me? Any sensible boyfriend will just nod their head and say ‘por supuesto‘ (of course).
Why aren’t you listening to me? Is there something interesting on the T.V? Notice the position of the pronoun ‘me‘? Spanish pronouns can behave very differently to English ones. We go into great detail on those little critters in our Spanish grammar section.
Getting annoyed…
I’m fed up with you. Another example of Spanish object pronouns, but you knew that, right?
I hate it when you do that. They were just probably breathing.
Suspicious minds…
Where were you last night? This question is also a classic example of the Imperfect tense in Spanish (Imperfecto).
Do you think I’m stupid? This is a question that has only one acceptable response. Whatever you do, don’t say ‘sí’. Think carefully before answering this question.
I don’t believe you. A phrase that does nothing to lower tensions! Use with caution.
