Maradona empezó a jugar a fútbol en las categorías inferiores del club de futbol, Argentinos Juniors. Jugó su primer partido con el primer equipo en 1976 con solo 15 años, y 2 años más tarde, en 1978, debutó con la selección Argentina. En 1981 Maradona se convirtió en jugador de Boca Juniors, uno de los clubes de futbol más famosos de Argentina. En 1986 ganó la copa mundial de fútbol con la selección Argentina.

Maradona started to play football in the youth categories of the Argentina Juniors football club. He made his debut with the first team in 1976 when he was just 15 years old, and, two years later, in 1978, he made his debut with the Argentinian national team. In 1981 Maradona joined Boca Juniors, one of the most famous football clubs in Argentina. In 1986 he won the football World Cup with the Argentinian national team.
